Diaper Cake Recipe!

My girl Andrea is having a baby girl and what is more fun to bring to a shower than a diaper cake! All it took was about an hour to assemble and no glue gun required! I'll share with you my recipe but there is no right or wrong way to make one! Be creative! :)

To get started:

+ (1) package of 50 count diapers (you might have leftovers)
+(4) 3 yard spools of ribbon
+ Stuffed animals and cake toppers! I used a pink watering can and an upside-down martini glass and a pin wheel full of gumballs!
+ (4) Baby Washclothes
+ (4) Baby hairbows
+ (1) package of Rubber bands
+ (4) outfits! I included onsies, dresses, etc.
+(2) medium sized about 8" melamine plates
+(1) large 12" melamine dinner plate for the cake base!
+ (1) Roll of plastic wrap (easy to find in the craft section for final wrap!)

The first step is to roll all of your diapers individually into little bundles! Make sure that they are rolled tight and secure with a rubber band.

Next, grab one of your plates and a handful of rolled diapers! Depending on the size of your plate, the number of diapers you will use will vary. Remember to pack them tight so your other layers will hold on top! Arrange upright in a circle and tie with a pretty ribbon. Repeat using your outfits and create a clothing layer to your cake! Limit to no more than three levels tall unless you are planning on securing the layers together (glue maybe?). Be careful not to damage the diapers!

Decorate by mixing in wash clothes with your diapers and clip your hairbows to the ribbon!

To top it off, use your stuffed animals or other creative cake topper! :)

The creative possibilities are endless! Enjoy!
